Trusting the Voice Within: The Power of Intuition

 In Books, Lifestyle
This morning, during my daily reading, I came across a quote from Steve Jobs:
“Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect, in my opinion.”
It reminded me of a conversation I once had with my former boss. She asked me a question, and I simply replied, “Because I know.” What I was trying to convey was that my intuition—my inner knowing—was speaking loudly. It wasn’t a guess or a fleeting thought; it was a deep sense of certainty that I couldn’t explain. I just knew.
I remember saying to her, “We’re preparing for a sale.” She replied, “No, we’re not.” But I stood firm: “Yes, we are.” At the time, no one believed our radio station could ever be sold. But guess what? It was.
Another moment that stands out happened a few years after I left the radio industry. I was at a business lunch with hundreds of people and found myself seated next to a couple I didn’t know. When the husband went up on stage to speak, a thought popped into my mind: He’s having an affair. I didn’t know these people, yet I knew. Later, I became friends with them, and it turned out that my intuition was correct—he was having an affair.
Years later, my former boss told me, “I learned to listen to you.” Her words confirmed something I’ve always believed: intuition is a gift from God, a divine compass guiding us when we’re aligned with our own energy. When I am centered in my energy—free from distractions or outside noise—my intuition becomes heightened, sharper, and more reliable.
One of my favorite books, The Magic Path of Intuition by Florence Scovel Shinn, beautifully captures the essence of living intuitively. In the book, she writes:
“Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way.”
This profound truth resonates deeply with me. Intuition isn’t about rationalizing or dissecting decisions; it’s about trusting the quiet, knowing voice within. The Magic Path of Intuition offers timeless wisdom and practical advice for developing this gift, encouraging readers to trust their inner guidance and navigate life with faith and confidence.
