Welcome. I am Lisa Marie Shaughnessy, a clinical outreach manager at Amen Clinics, former Trauma Education Association vice president, and a certified life, sales, and brain health coach. I wrote and published the book Testosterone: The Next Drug Epidemic Side Effects, Addiction, Death. In 2023, I was humbled with the Taylor Hooton Legacy Award. I have extensive experience in marketing, advertising, sales, leadership, and coaching, and I have worked with residential treatment centers, acute care hospitals, and many other industries. My passion and positive energy are focused on helping those improve their brain health, complex trauma, testosterone trauma, big T, and little T. I help to ensure your family and friends will receive the best care to get them on the path to living an extraordinary life.
I am a lifelong learner, and when away from work, I love to travel the
world, spending time with my dog, Lucy, and my family.
My life has been filled with tragedy, triumphs, and tipping points, and a healing journey that I share through my presentations and book.
In 2009, I was led to believe that I was a candidate for testosterone replacement therapy at a hormone clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. After spending three years on testosterone replacement therapy, I developed an iatrogenic addiction that led to her contemplating suicide.
I love to present to Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and other medical professionals. My topic is “The other side of testosterone replacement therapy-the hyper-sexual, manic, addictive side.” My book is the first to explore, in-depth, the dark side of testosterone addiction. It is both a warning and a call to action.
“People are being led to believe they need testosterone. They don’t. What they don’t know is that they are embarking on a hormonal roller coaster ride that may cost them their lives.”
